Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy

1. Policy Statement

Bridport Building Supplies Limited is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking within our organisation and throughout our supply chains. This policy is aligned with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and reflects our commitment to transparency, integrity, and ethical business practices.

2. Our Business and Supply Chains

The Company operates within the building materials and supplies sector and works with a range of suppliers and partners. We recognise that certain supply chains, particularly those involving goods sourced from outside the UK and EU, may present a higher risk of modern slavery.

3. Due Diligence and Risk Assessment

Bridport Building Supplies Limited conducts regular due diligence and risk assessments of its operations and supply chains. To date, we are satisfied that there is no evidence of modern slavery or human trafficking within our organisation.

We recognise that due diligence is an ongoing process and remain vigilant to potential risks across all areas of our business.

4. Supplier Approval and Expectations

As part of our supplier approval process, we assess the controls and practices of our suppliers to ensure they meet our ethical and legal standards. Suppliers are expected to comply with this policy and to take appropriate steps to identify and mitigate risks of modern slavery within their own operations and supply chains.

The level of management oversight required for suppliers will be continually monitored, particularly where there is an increased risk due to geographic location or sourcing practices.

5. Zero Tolerance Approach

Bridport Building Supplies Limited will not knowingly engage with, or support, any business involved in modern slavery or human trafficking. This commitment applies to all direct and indirect relationships, including subcontractors and third-party partners.

6. Responsibility and Governance

Responsibility for implementing and reviewing this policy rests with senior management. Appropriate measures are taken to ensure awareness of this policy and adherence to its principles across the business.

7. Review and Continuous Improvement

This policy will be reviewed regularly to ensure it remains effective, proportionate, and reflective of best practice and legal requirements. Any updates will be communicated and applied as necessary.
