Bribery and Corruption Policy

1. Policy Statement

Bridport Building Supplies Limited is committed to conducting business honestly and ethically and in full compliance with all applicable UK laws, including the Bribery Act 2010.

We operate a zero tolerance approach to bribery and corruption and expect all employees and anyone working on our behalf to act with integrity at all times.

2. What is Bribery?

Bribery is the offering, giving, requesting or accepting of any advantage, whether financial or otherwise, to induce or reward the improper performance of a role or function.

This includes, but is not limited to, cash payments, gifts, hospitality, preferential treatment, or any other benefit intended to improperly influence a business decision.

3. Our Position

Bridport Building Supplies Limited will not:

• Offer or give bribes in order to obtain or retain business
• Request or accept bribes from suppliers, customers, or any other parties

4. Gifts and Hospitality

Gifts and hospitality must be reasonable, proportionate, and appropriate to the business relationship. All gifts or hospitality offered or received must have prior approval from a Director or Branch Manager.

Gifts or hospitality must not be offered or accepted where they could be perceived as influencing a business decision, particularly during tendering or contract negotiations. Cash or cash equivalents must never be offered or accepted.

5. Reporting Concerns

Any concerns or suspected incidents of bribery or corruption must be reported in writing to senior management, specifically a Director or the Branch Manager, via email or written correspondence.

Employees who raise concerns in good faith will not be treated unfairly or subjected to disciplinary action as a result.

6. Breaches of this Policy

Any breach of this policy may result in disciplinary action, which may include dismissal. Bribery and corruption are criminal offences and may result in prosecution of both the individual and Bridport Building Supplies Limited.
